Indigenous conservation OECM consulting

Description

Oregon State University intends to contract for consultation work on indigenous conservation and natural resource rights in relation to OECMs with IIFB as a sole source because of the uniqueness (design, capability, nature) of the services and the contractor being the only provider of the services. Consultant must have a deep understanding of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KM-GBF), specifically Target 3, which focuses on recognizing Indigenous and traditional territories, ensure that the co-creation of the marine OECM tool respects and includes Indigenous and traditional knowledge, wisdom, worldviews, and rights and practices of Indigenous peoples worldwide. They must also ensure the participation of thought leaders from diverse sectors, including scientists, policy experts, conservationists, fisheries management experts, leaders in Indigenous ocean practices, and other rights holders and community members with an interest and expertise in marine areas. An entity may appeal this determination in accordance with OSU Standard 03-010. Section 5.17 no later than the closing date indicated on the website. Appeals must be submitted to Procurement, Contracts and Materials Management at procurement@oregonstate.edu by 05/21/2025, 10:30 AM PT.
