Opti Track Virtual Study Equipment

Description

Oregon State University intends to contract for the provision of Opti Track Virtual Study Equipment from Opti Track as a sole source because of the contractor being the only provider able to meet critical parameters or timeframes to support the research and/or business needs of the university. OSU has the need to obtain Virtual Study Equipment for its Virtual Construction Safety Laboratory to study construction workers performing construction tasks (e.g., making form work, interacting with scaffolding, etc.) and pedestrians making crossing decisions in different roadway configurations. The Opti Track Equipment meets the specifications below:

The 3D motion capture system proposed for this project is for an activity area that measures a bit over 20 feet by 20 feet (400 sq. ft.) and can display movements with +/- 0.10 mm accuracy, 4.1 MP resolution, and a native frame rate of 180 FPS.

The supporting space frame will be slightly larger than the activity area to accommodate capturing movements close to the edges and corners of the activity area. The height of the frame will be 14 feet to allow for capturing tall objects/persons, such as a worker standing on a ladder.

Ability to meet the compatibility requirements of other Realtime Technology driving and bicycling simulators that are currently part of the laboratory.

An entity may appeal this determination in accordance with OSU Standard 03-010. Section 5.17 no later than the closing date indicated on the website. Appeals must be submitted to Procurement, Contracts and Materials Management at procurement@oregonstate.edu by 05/20/2025 at 10:30 am PT.
