Oregon State University (OSU) intends to contract for the provision of scientific sensor maintenance and calibration services from Sea-Bird Electronics, Inc. (SBE) as a sole source. This sole source determination is based upon the contractor being the single provider of the required goods and services. These sensor maintenance and calibration services will be purchased for the Regional Class Research Vessel (RCRV) Project and this sole source will be effective for the duration of the RCRV Project, approximately three years (estimated to end December 2026). OSU purchased the SBE scientific sensors under a sole source procurement, maintenance and calibration services were inadvertently not included in the Sole Source Request Form, dated 4/25/2019. These scientific sensors can only be serviced by the original manufacturer, SBE. An entity may appeal this determination in accordance with OSU Standard 03-010.
