The University of Oregon currently owns a Siemens Multix UPH Radiographic System with Tomography used to take radiographs of students in providing patient care at the University Health Center. With this letter, the University seeks to obtain information to use in negotiating the acquisition of a new Radiography System This letter does not constitute a solicitation for bids or an offer of a contract. Responses will not bind you to the University (or the University to you) contractually or monetarily, or in any other way. Please do not respond exclusively by telephone or merely by sending marketing brochures. Please feel free to make suggestions, in addition to responding to the questions. Please submit your responses to Jan Collins, X-ray Department Supervisor, University Health Center 541-346-4457, email mcollins@uoregon.edu) no later than May 30, 2012. Responses submitted after this date may be considered if the University, in its sole discretion, deems appropriate or desirable. Once the University receives all information it wishes to obtain, it will evaluate the information and determine whether to negotiate with you. The University may negotiate with no vendors, one vendor, or more than one vendor. It is the Universitys intent to purchase the components and services it deems, in its sole discretion, to provide the best value to the University, though the University may choose to purchase no components or services. Price will be one of many factors considered in any purchase. The factors considered are not limited to those addressed in this letter, the responses to this letter, or any other inquiries the University might make and responses it might receive. The University reserves the right to request machine demonstrations, if in its sole discretion, the University determines that machine demonstrations are in its best interest. The University is under no obligation to share additional information with you beyond that contained in this letter but may do so if the University, in its sole discretion, deems it advantageous. It is hoped that the result of this process will be a binding contract between the University and a vendor which will include terms and conditions substantially set forth in the draft contract enclosed with this letter. If you have questions, concerns or proposed revisions to any of the terms and conditions contained in the attached contract, you must address those in your response. If you do not address your questions, concerns or proposed revisions in your response, the following terms and conditions in the attached agreement will be non-negotiable and will not be subject to revision: Sections: 11 through 17. Anode rotating speed not less than 6000 rpm. Collimator must have ACSS (automatic collimation size sensing). Collimator must possess a full-field light localizer. Collimator must rotate +/- 45 degrees. The functional display on the tube housing must indicate: a. SID (source image distance). b. Angle of the tube. c. Display of the workplace (bucky wall, bucky table, or tabletop exposure). CEILING SUSPENDED TUBE Ceiling-mounted tube support for the x-ray tube with movements in all directions. Vertical telescopic travel a minimum of 70. Horizontal travel a minimum of 135. Minimum tube rotation range around the vertical axis: -154 degrees to 182 degrees; detent at 0 degrees; +/- 90 degrees; + 180 degrees. Minimal tube rotation range around the horizontal axis: +/- 120 degrees; detent at 0 degrees; +/- 90 degrees. All movements must have electromagnetic brakes. The tube must have detent settings for the table bucky at 40 SID and the wall bucky at 40 SID and 72 SID. X-RAY TABLE Must possess a free floating table top with approximately 5 7 transverse travel and approximately 17 20 longitudinal travel. The table must elevate from approximately 20 to 38. Table bucky moving grid must have a minimum ratio of 10:1 with a focus distance of 115 cm. Table bucky must be able to accept all cassette sizes from 8 x 10 to 14 x 17. Table top made of composite material/resin. Table top must be a minimum of 32 width x 86 length. X-ray absorption must be < 0.65 mm Al. Maximum patient weight 650 lbs or more.
